Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign (30 September 2025) Jointly organised by AKMU, ICAR-NBPGR New Delhi and ICAR-NBPGR Regional Station, Ranchi, Jharkhand

On 30 September 2025, AKMU, ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi, and ICAR-NBPGR Regional Station, Ranchi, jointly conducted activities as part of the Swachhta Hi Seva Campaign. The event enabled the registration and linkage of sanitation workers and their families with various social welfare schemes to ensure comprehensive benefits. A cleanliness and awareness programme was organised on 30 September 2025 at Bhusur village by ICAR-NBPGR Regional Station, Ranchi. The programme highlighted government welfare schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Saubhagya Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat, with a focus on sanitation workers and their families. Dr. Monu Kumar, Dr. N S Panwar, and Dr. Shephalika Amarpali attended in person, while Dr Hanuman Lal, Principal Scientist and OIC, AKMU, ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi, addressed the gathering online and at AKMU Delhi, encouraging participation to keep the village clean and hygienic. Local residents actively participated in the cleanliness drive, and the event motivated the community to adopt clean and healthy practices in daily life. Scientists and personnel from the AKMU Unit conducted camps to assist sanitation workers and their families. The emphasis was on instructing sanitation workers about the importance of personal hygiene and maintaining cleanliness in their environment, as well as the health benefits for both the workers and their dependants. Mr Ankur Tomar AKMU explained in detail the national schemes and their significance for sanitation workers and their families.
