Salient Achievements

  • Identified a mungbean germplasm EC-0398949 (Registration No. INGR21224) as a useful donar for cool canopy temperature trait.
  • Developed a statistical phenological prediction model for Almonds grown under Himalayan region (DOI: 10.1007/s10341-023-00991-9)
  • Introduced late blooming almond cultivars (Ferragnes, Ferralise and Tardy Non-pareil in Kashmir, India).
  • Collected unique collections of Aegilops tauschii accessions from Kashmir, India
  • Developed and submitted the transcriptome data of local almond cultivar Waris and exotic cultivar Ferralise under the accession PRJNA898899 in NCBI in collaboration with ICAR-CITH, Srinagar.

Awards/Honours

  • Distinguished Scientist Award in Crop Improvement from AAVASILES-2022 organized jointly by ICAR-IGFRI, NAHEP and NADCL held at held at Gandhi Bhawan, University of Kashmir (India) from September 28 to 30, 2022.
  •  Received First prize in Oral presentation in International conference “NATURAL SCIENCE AND GREEN TECHNOLOGIES FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (NTSD-2022)” organized by NESA, New Delhi in 2022.
  •  Received (as Co-author) DR. R.K. Arora Best Paper Award 2019 by Indian Society for Plant Genetic Resources (ISPGR) New Delhi.
