Salient Achievements

  1. As a team member contributed significantly in the mega characterization and evaluation of wheat germplasm which found place in Limca Book of Records and resulted into development of wheat core set.
  2. Wild lentil core set was evaluated for its biofortification potential.
  3. As a team member developed first Chenopodium quinoa variety released in India i.e. Him Shakti, buckwheat variety Him Phaphra and faba bean varietiey HFB-2.
  4. At ICAR-DRMR, Bharatpur screened advanced breeding lines and germplasm for double zero material (Low erucic acid and low glucosinolate content) along with high oil content. At ICAR-NBPGR also, screening oilseed germplasm for various nutritional traits.
  5. Mechanism of action of sinigrin-myrosinase interaction and active site of myrosinase were determined in silico.
  6. As a team member identified biomarkers at metabolite levels for insect-host interactions particularly against Chilo partellus in maize and sorghum.
  7. As ISO Coordinator, contributed towards ISO9001:2008 certification of the institute and its up gradation to ISO9001:2015 certification.
  8. As Incharge ITMU and Member Secretary, ITMC worked towards protection of various Intellectual Properties and commercialization of technologies developed at the Institute.
