Salient Achievements

  1. Quarantine processing of exotic germplasm of various crops and their wild relatives and interception of various pathogenic viruses using ELISA and PCR based technique.
  2. Screening for viral diseases (okra yellow vein mosaic disease and okra enation leaf curl disease) and insects (whitefly and hopper) resistance in wild okra (Abelmoschus moschatus ssp. moschatus) germplasm in India.
  3. Molecular detection of okra yellow vein mosaic virus from wild okra (Abelmoschus moschatus ssp. moschatus)
  4. Molecular detection of phytoplasma infecting sesamum, tomato and brinjal
  5. Field and Artificial screening of sesamum, tomato and brinjal germplasm against begomoviruses and phytoplasma
