Salient Achievements

  • Undertaken 07 exploration trips in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura state of India which resulted in the collection of more than 300 acc. of agri-horti crops
  • Imported the new germplasm of kiwifruit (coloured) and persimmon which resulted in the addition of new species and germplasmof these fruit crops to the FGB
  • Registered four genetic stock of apple (early maturing bud sports)
  • Developer of  wo varieties, one of Quinoa and Buckwheat, developed under AICRP on Potential crops. “Him Shakti” of Quinoa (high yield potential coupled with protein content (15.64%) and oil (8.91%) and “Him Phaphra” variety of Buckwheat (high protein (13.1%) with methionine and iron (6.6 mg/100g) content).
