Salient Achievements

  • A novel germplasm ER9-700(INGR21018) has been registered by Plant Germplasm Registration committee (PGRC) of ICAR as leaf rust resistant.
  • A novel germplasm PBS29079B (INGR21229) has been registered by Plant Germplasm Registration committee (PGRC) of ICAR as BOLD SEEDED advanced breeding line of Groundnut.
  • A novel leaf rust resistance gene, LrM, introgressed from Aegilops markgrafi and mapped on chromo-some 2AS using SSR- and SNP-based PCR markers.
  • Three advanced breeding lines viz., PBS 14064, PBS 15014 and PBS 16023 developed for FRESH SEED DORMANCY (> 90 % upto 3 weeks) in Arachis hypogaea.
  • Developed and identified PBS 22040, the best performing advanced breeding line, as the potent source of IDC (iron-deficiency chlorosis) tolerance.
  • Developed and identified two stable early-maturing high-yielding breeding lines, of Arachis hypogaea, NRCGCS 254 and NRCGCS 446, as potential donors for breeding improved groundnut varieties in the potato-fallow system.
