One-day workshop on PGR Awareness was organized on 11.02.2025 at State Agriculture Department office, Raisinghnagar, Anupgarh, Rajasthan

A one-day workshop on PGR awareness was conducted at State Agriculture Department office, Raisinghnagar, Anupgarh, Rajasthan on 11th February, 2025 for SC beneficiaries for improving their livelihood. A total of 100 farmers (men/women) from 29 NP, 40 NP, 41NP, 45 NP etc. villages of Raisinghnagar block were participated and benefited from the SC-SP programme. Dr. Harbansh Singh, Assistant Director Agriculture, was the Chief Guest and Dr. Balwan Singh, ARO (Agronomy), ATC, Sri Karanpur, was the special guest speaker in the programme. Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Agriculture Officer. Assistant Director Agriculture office, Raisinghnagar, Anupgarh, Rajasthan and Dr. Rajveer Singh Choudhary, SMS (Soil Science), KVK Padampur, Sriganganagar, Rajasthan were the special guest. Dr. Pavan Kumar Malav, Scientist, ICAR-NBPGR welcomed the chief guest, special guest and participating farmers. Dr. Subhash Chander, Senior Scientist, ICAR-NBPGR briefed about the SC-SP scheme and its relevance for SC farmers. He also briefly discussed about the role and importance of ICAR-NBPGR for conservation of traditional landraces and farmers varieties to the farmers. Dr. Balwan Singh, ARO (Agronomy), briefly discussed about the various recommended varieties of wheat and mustard of the local area and also discussed about the management of irrigation/pest/disease in different crops. Dr. Rajveer Singh Choudhary, SMS (Soil Science), talked about the management and reclamation of the soil for better crop production with efficient use of fertilizers. Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Agriculture Officer make aware the farmers about different government schemes conducted by agriculture department and procedures to apply for these schemes and about the subsidies. Dr. Harbansh Singh, Assistant Director Agriculture, Chief Guest of the programme urged the farmers to take advantage of state agriculture department and KVK to learn good agri-horticultural practices through different training programmes and schemes. At the end of the programme, agricultural tools/inputs like battery operated knapsack sprayers, Tirpal, Kinnow Saplings, secateurs, foldable plastic crates, Grain Storage Bins and chargeable torch were distributed to 100 SC beneficiaries. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Pavan Kumar Malav.
